As Squad and Chief 88 were clearing an accident scene on the PA Turnpike, Montco dispatch advised that they were dispatching a house fire in the 400 block of Summit Avenue. Additional units were added to the call due to Squad 88 being out of the first due area. UDPD arrived on scene and reported fire showing from the 3rd floor with an exposure problem due to the closeness of the homes. Engine 88 arrived, secured their own water, and stretched an attack line to the attic, where they located heavy fire conditions. As additional units from Stations 7, 6 and 700 arrived, an additional line was stretched to the second floor, the building was laddered and the roof was ventilated. TW500 was the Rapid Intervention Team and Ambler EMS stoodby as well. The Fire was placed under control within 20 minutes and units were released.
