Fire Prevention Expo continued: Our participants include dozens of fire, rescue, police agencies, emergency medical services, and other emergency squads. Represented are local municipalities, county, state and federal agencies. We encourage our participants to demonstrate their "specialties", such as repelling, water rescue, vehicle rescue, drafting, hazmat, trench rescue, fire sprinkler systems, emergency medical services and many more. Along with emergency responders, we invite numerous public and private organizations such as the American Red Cross, The Burn Foundation, MADD, Pa. State Police, State Farm Insurance Co., PECO Energy, The Safe Kids Coalition, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and others. Demonstrations and displays are set up both inside and outside the Upper Dublin Township Building. While this event is intended to be educational, there are many interesting and fun activities for everyone. For example: vehicle rescue demos, stove / oven fire demos, police K9 demos, medical evacuation helicopters, fire safety smoke house, water target, antique fire trucks and equipment, and more. Photographs from our fire Expos in prior years can be seen in the fire safety section on our website at http://www.fortwashingtonfc.org/.Please plan to attend. Mark your calendars for the Fort Washington Fire Expo 2007, to be held on Monday October 1 from 6:30pm - 9:00pm at the Upper Dublin Township Building and Grounds. Admission and parking are free. Fire safety is something that everyone needs to be aware of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Do not wait until it is too late, practice fire safety every day! If you have any questions or comments about this article, or any other fire safety subject, please feel free to call the Fire Company at 215-646-2555 or stop into either fire station any Monday night. The Fire Prevention Committee is available to present programs upon request. Visit the Fort Washington Fire Company on the Internet at www.fortwashingtonfc.org.
