On Monday night at 9PM, units were dispatched to the 100 block of Girard Avenue for the report of a house on fire. Engine 702 from Oreland arrived and reported fire showing from the 2nd floor. Command was established and it was quickly determined that this was a “balloon frame” house and that the fire spread from the basement up to the attic through the walls. Crews conducted searches for any victims, which were negative, and extinguished fire on all levels of the home before the fire was placed under control.
