The Fort Washington Fire Company has been re-certified as a "Silver Level" Department as part of the PA State Fire Commissioner's participating department program. The purpose is to "recognize those organizations that support, promote, and encourage their emergency response personnel to voluntarily certify within the Commonwealth's Certification Program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner."

Our Silver level recognition signifies that at least 75% of our active members hold training certifications, ranging from Fire Fighter 1 through advanced officer courses. To maintain this status, we must re-certify every three years. For an organization of our size, we are especially proud of this accomplishment and our members' commitment to training.
