Dwelling Fire on Douglas Street clears both Fort Stations

Dwelling Fire-At 5:45 Wednesday evening, just as Squad 88 was pulling up to a fully involved vehicle fire on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Montgomery County dispatched a dwelling fire in the area of Meadowbrook Avenue and Douglas Street. Engine 88, Engine 88-1, Tower 88 and Rescue 88 all responded, while Squad 88 and Squad 88-1 quickly handled the car fire. Captain 88 arrived and reported fire showing from the rear of a 2 story twin in the Unit Block of Douglass Street. Engine 88 arrived and deployed a line to the rear of the home, while Engine 7-3 from Wissahickon established a water supply and Tower 88 and Ladder 7 conducted searches, laddered the building and ventilated. The fire involving the kitchen was quickly knocked down and crews from Oreland Fire Company checked the adjoining house for any fire spread. A total of 3 pets were rescued from the home by personnel from Fort Washington, Wissahickon and Upper Dublin PD and oxygen was administered by EMS.
