Rainy Friday Afternoon House Fire

July 8, 2016

At around 4:30 on Friday afternoon, units were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 1100 block of Fitzwatertown Road. Chief 88 reported a single family dwelling off the roadway with fire on the rear patio and extending into the attic space. Squad88-1 took the driveway and split their crew, deploying the front bumper line to the rear of the house and a second hose line to the interior to attack the attic fire. Additional units from 88, 400 and 500 arrived and assisted with water supply, primary search, vertical ventilation and an additional hose line to the interior. Ladder 100 was also added to the assignment and assisted with opening up the roof and rear of the home to expose hidden fire in the addition. The fire was placed under control at the first 20 minute mark.
