| The Fort Washington Fire Company has taken delivery of the new Tower 88. Tower 88 is the result of many years of work by our apparatus committee and the support of Upper Dublin Township. This unit will replace our 2001 American LaFrance tower that has served us well for the past 22 years. The new Tower 88 is a 2023 E-One Typhoon 95ft. Midmount Tower Ladder that seats 6 personnel. The new unit features a Cummins X12 500 Horsepower motor, Whelen emergency lighting, HiViz LED scene lighting, a 6KW generator, 275 feet of ground ladders and 5 gallons of water. There is much work to be done before the unit goes into service, including training of our drivers, lettering/striping and equipment mounting. We are looking forward to getting the new truck ready for service in the coming weeks! |
