Automatic Fire Alarm Upgraded to Box Alarm

January 15, 2016

As FWFC units had just returned to quarters from a previous call the company was dispatched for an automatic fire alarm in the Fort Washington Industrial Park. As Squad 88-1 arrived on location Upper Dublin PD advised there was a light fixture on fire inside with smoke through out the building. The incident was upgraded to a full box alarm and Squad 88-1's crew stretched a 200ft 1.75" hose line into the building. Engine 88 arrived just after the squad and positioned to layout to the hydrant on West Office Center Drive. Assistant 88 was the interior officer and reported there was a piece of machinery that had burned up and all visible fire was extinguished. The assignment was scaled back to FWFC units and ladder 7. Crews ventilated the structure and the building was turned over to FM-41.
