In November of 2020, the Fort Washington Fire Company No. 1 received notification that we were selected for an Enbridge Safe Community First Responder Grant. Enbridge is a North American energy delivery company that operates liquid pipelines, natural gas pipelines, and utilities. The program awards grants of up to $7,500 for safety equipment, professional training, or safety education programs to organizations invited to apply, including fire departments, emergency medical and rescue services, emergency management organizations, 9-1-1 centers, ambulance services and law enforcement organizations. In December of 2020, we received $6,975 from Enbridge, which was used to purchase 5 SCBA Integrated Thermal Imaging Cameras. These TICs, which help firefighters locate fires and victims in smoky environments, were attached to the Officer’s SCBAs on 5 of our frontline apparatus. The FWFC would like to take this opportunity to thank Enbridge for their generous grant. Enbridge is an excellent example of a company that is dedicated to giving back to the community.
