March 2, 2009 - To many people, Fort Washington Fire Company and the name George Haggar are synonomous. And, as it should be. George has been a member of the fire company for 70 years. He laid the cornerstone on the Summit Avenue station and he was the visionary behind the Fire Training Center. It is because of this that his family and friends and the many members of the Fort Washington Fire company and our neighbors braved the winter storm on Monday to gather at the firehouse to honor George for his service. In the ceremony, a sign was unveiled officially renaming the Fire Training Center as the George Haggar Fire Training Center.
