Shortly after 5PM, units were dispatched for a possible kitchen fire in the 1400 block of North Limekiln Pike. PD arrived on scene with a confirmed fire in the kitchen and smoke showing. Engine 88 arrived and proceeded down the long driveway to the home, which sat well off the roadway. A pre-connect was deployed and stretched to the interior while Engine 88-1 laid out to the closest hydrant. Engine 88 quickly knocked down the fire and began checking for fire extension. With the fire confined to the kitchen, the assignment was scaled back to 88 and units remained on scene with overhaul.
