Sean's Letter to FWFC:

 Dear Firefighters of FWFC #1:

I am writing to thank you for the very generous scholarship you awarded to me at graduation.  It will greatly help me in my educational pursuits.  As one of four children, affording my college education is a challenge to both me and my parents.  This year will be, especially, difficult with two full-time college students in my family.  Your philanthropy has made this struggle easier and, for this, I thank you.  I look forward to taking advantage of the vast opportunities offered at Lehigh University in the coming four years.  I know this experience will broadened my horizons by exposing me to people, places, and things I would otherwise not have known existed.  I feel truly enriched to have been offered this opportunity, which your award has helped make possible.  For this, I thank you.

My experience with the Fort Washington Fire Company was the topic of one of my college essays.  It has been an important and integral part of my high school experience, not to mention, one of the most rewarding. The men and women I have met during my training are top-notched.  They are hard-working, knowledgeable, and competent, and are dedicated to making our community a safer place.  I feel a true sense of camaraderie amongst them.

My association with the FWFC has taught me the personal fulfillment experienced by volunteering.  I plan to continue this trend as a lifelong dedication.  Lending my time and energy to worthy causes will make my life more meaningful, while benefiting others in need.  I have learned that sometimes, when giving of yourself, you get back more than you give.

In closing, I, again, express my thanks for your generous support and hope to show my gratitude through my success at Lehigh University.

Sincerely,
Sean Dunn
