Community Programs and Birthday Parties

Community Programs

The Fort Washington Fire Company is available to participate in your community activity at no cost. In the past these community activities have included fairs, township programs, and block parties.

Two to seven firefighters will arrive in a fire truck.  We allow the kids and adults to sit in the fire truck, observe our tools and equipment, operate a functioning fire hose, and try on fire fighting gear.  We can set up a table containing a variety of fire safety literature and fun items and can provide a program on fire safety.  We always love to receive questions from the public.  Adults, as well as the kids always leave with more knowledge as well as having a great time.

There is no cost to have the Fort Washington Fire Company appear at your event.  However, as we are a all volunteer fire company, we would like at least two weeks advance notice.

If you are interested in any of our fire prevention programs for your community, please contact the Fire Prevention Committee by phone at 215.646.2555, press option # 1, then press option # 6.

Or you can e-mail Howard Schmuckler at FirePrevention@fortwashingtonfc.org.  Howard Schmuckler is co-responsible for the fire prevention programs for your community offered by the Fort Washington Fire Company.

You must understand that if we receive an emergency call that we must respond to that call.  This may delay our arrival to your event, and/or may cause us to leave earlier then anticipated.

Birthday Parties

The Fort Washington Fire Company is available to participate in your child's birthday party at no cost.  We can go to your house, or you can come to one of our fire stations.  However due to problems in the past, we do not allow any food in the fire house.

If you want us to come to your house, two to seven firefighters will arrive in a fire truck.  We allow the kids and adults to sit in the fire truck, observe our tools and equipment, operate a functioning fire hose, and try on fire fighting gear.  We have special child size turnout gear that we allow the birthday child to wear.  We will provide a goodie bag to each child containing a variety of fire safety literature and fun items.  Adults, as well as the kids always receive more knowledge as well as having a great time.

If you should choose to visit our fire station we will provide a tour of our fire station and all of the trucks at that station, as well as all of the above activities.

There is no cost to have the Fort Washington Fire Company appear at your birthday party.  However, as we are an all volunteer fire company, we would like at least two weeks advance notice.
